The way to go when conventional materials don’t make the cut anymore.

The material consists of 99% waste from rapeseed oil production.

The material is a composite that is moldable using traditional industrial techniques, has good detail reproduction & is an environmentally friendly alternative.

The sketching included lamps, different storage products, shelves and bowls. The final decision on which idea to go through with was the one that showcased the materials potential the best.

The Brassi bowl

The shape of the bowl is due to the materials good detail reproduction and how well it can be molded. It was also important to create a product that gives opportunities for people to touch it, since it became evident that users like holding and touching the material. This is an insight taken from the performed user studies. The irregular texture gives the bowl a unique character.
